Shipping is complete! Happy Holidays!
over 3 years ago – Tue, Dec 22, 2020 at 11:14:46 PM

Good morning, everyone!

Yesterday, I finished packing and shipping out everything! It's all in the hands of FedEx/USPS now. If you don't have your package yet: don't worry! It's on the way! Tracking numbers are notoriously unreliable this time of years, so be patient. If you don't have your package by the end of the year, then you can start to express concerns. Feel free to e-mail us at [email protected] with any questions, but hold off for at least a week or so before doing so to ask about where your package is. Unless something weird/bad happened, I packed it with loving care and it's on its way to you.

In next week's update, I'll have PDF packs for everyone! Also, I know there are lingering questions of various sorts that pop up in the comments. I've been very focused on getting this shipout done in the last couple weeks, but I'll answer anything asked in the comments of this update in the update I post on the 29th. So, ask away!

With everything being en route, I am going to take a much needed break and catch up on e-mails (ugh) and reading some speculative fiction (yay)! Happy Holidays, everyone.

Shipping is going GREAT!
over 3 years ago – Fri, Dec 18, 2020 at 07:39:45 PM

Hey everyone!

I've been having a blast shipping so many books to all of you!

Four main things to talk about in this update:

  • Shipping Timeline
  • PDFs Status
  • Printing Errors
  • International Shipping

So let's get to it!

Shipping Timeline

We are still ON TRACK with the timeline that I've been promising for the last few updates. We finally received the last pallet of stuff end of day yesterday, so now the only thing keeping your books from you is the speed at which I can pack up books and other stuff into boxes, and the speed at which parcel delivery happens. I know that hundreds of you have already received your books, and I love seeing all the photos and tweets and reactions! But I will not truly rest until you all have your books! I will be genuinely shocked if I don't have 100% of everything shipped out before next Tuesday's update. I'll report back then, of course, but I believe that update will be one of great triumph!

PDFs Status

Jenn is working hard on getting everything together for the PDF bundle for all of you! By popular demand, we're working on two versions of the big fancy PDF - one that is truly quite big and very fancy (but doesn't play well on less-fast computers or mobile devices), and one that is more optimized and streamlined, but has a higher compression rate on images, making them less, well, big and fancy. But you don't have to choose between those two options. You get both!

She's also making other requested PDFs, such as a PDF of the GM screen, a Hero Creation aid PDF (pages 46 & 47 of the core rulebook and also the charts at the start of each characteristic section), fillable/printable hero and villain character sheets, and the hero character sheets of the various heroes seen in the three seasons of SCRPG livestreams we did in the last year. Last couple years? How long has it been? What is time?

Anyway, it's a lot to put together, but our intention is to have all of that to you before the end of the year.

Printing Errors

We've heard from a few of you that your copy of the SCRPG Core Rulebook has a rather peculiar misprint. We're very sorry that this happened. This error is not our fault, but that is a silly thing to say and doesn't matter; it's absolutely our responsibility. And we will make it right. This seems to have happened to very few compared to how many people have gotten the books, thankfully, but it's still a serious concern! One of the chunks of printed material in Chapter 7 gets repeated, replacing the next logical sets of pages that SHOULD be there. We're pretty grumpy about this, and are already hollering at the printer about it. But! We need to know just how far this problem goes! Right now, we've only heard from a single-digit number of people on this. If that's it in terms of what books were printed incorrectly, then WHEW! But if it's more, then we're going to breathe even harder down the printer's neck. Do printers have necks? Doesn't matter! Moving on!

Good news: the misprinted (or, rather, more accurately: misbound) section doesn't mess up any important game-playing rules information. So, these incorrect books are at least usable, for now. But we will replace them!

So! Check your book - especially in chapter 7. If you have a chunk of pages that repeat the numbering over again in the early/mid-300s, let us know! E-mail us at [email protected] with your name, backer info (if you have it), and photos of the errors, and your shipping address. We'll get a correct copy to you ASAP (but after I've finished the rest of shipping out everything, so it'll likely be next year, but VERY early next year - shooting for the first week of January).

We gotta collect those photos so we can convince the printer to right its wrongs and get us corrected copies of the books!

International Shipping

The majority of the international shipments have already been delivered, and even more than that have left our facility and are en route! We should be 100% done with all the international orders before the end of this week. (And then the domestic orders very soon after that.) So if you don't have your order yet, do your best to stick it out just a little longer! Soon! So soon, my friends. (This also applies to non-international orders.)

Some people have reported paying fees and import charges. Many apologies - we believed that we'd covered all of that with the way we shipped these books. That shouldn't have happened. If you paid any such charges, please e-mail us at [email protected] with your name, backer info (if you have it), and a copy/picture of the receipt of whatever fees/charges you paid to get your book. You shouldn't have paid that, and we'll refund you the amount that you had to pay. (As noted in the Kickstarter campaign, this applies only to Europe, Australia, and Canada. Everywhere else has different importing laws that we can't cover, unfortunately.)

Back to Work!

Anyway, I'm heading back to the warehouse now to pack up and ship out more booooooks! You're great. Chat more next Tuesday.

Shipping is VERY under way!
over 3 years ago – Wed, Dec 09, 2020 at 08:48:59 PM

Good morning, everyone!

I've been in the shipping mines with only minimal breaks for sustenance and sleep since Friday afternoon! Paul was able to help for a couple hours on Friday as well, so we got a chunk of games out the door then, but a MUCH larger amount are going out today. They would have gone out yesterday, but yesterday was our annual holiday party (entirely online this year, unfortunately) so no one was in the warehouse, but they're heading out now! So! If you have a shipping e-mail but no package yet, fear not! It's on its way now!

This shipping process will still take a few weeks, as projected in last week's update. As mentioned, we're waiting on a couple more shipments of stuff to get everything out the door, but we're shipping all we can as fast as possible, and we're feeling good about the rate at which things are coming together. Barring any strangeness with the shipments we're expecting, everything should be out the door here well before the 25th.

Oh, and I shipped as much of the international as possible first to try to get ahead of any international politics changes - looking at you, UK.

OK! I'm heading back to the warehouse now to do more packing up of boxes for all you lovely people! Thanks for bearing with us!

Core Rulebook Preview Livestream in an Hour!
over 3 years ago – Fri, Dec 04, 2020 at 12:59:43 PM

Good morning, friends!

I'll be going live on the GTG YouTube channel in about an hour! You can watch here.

(Like last time, I'm likely to go live about 10 minutes early to test my audio and video and make sure everything is working, and I'll take some questions in that time, but I won't start showing off book stuff until 10 AM, Central time.)

Come watch my livestream! It's gonna be a good time!
