Slightly Early update! Gen Con this week!
– Mon, Jul 31, 2023 at 06:09:44 AM
Good morning, everyone!
I'm getting ready to drive to Gen Con, so rather than attempting to post this update tomorrow while traveling and setting up for a convention and all that, I'm posting it today! Hooray for early updates!
As projected, we finished the Terror Forms adventure between the last update and this one! Not only finishing the file, but also getting the physical product printed — I just put several boxes of them in the back of my vehicle to drive to Gen Con, in fact! It's great to see a plan come together. We're looking forward to finishing even more product and getting it to you as quickly as we reasonably can!
I'll be posting another update after this one that is "Backers Only" with a link for downloading the Terror Forms PDF! A week or two after the dust settles from Gen Con, we'll be posting the physical Terror Forms product on the GTG webstore and also putting the PDF up on DriveThruRPG and sending you links that way, as well, that way you have it in that library, too!
In the comments of last month's update, we got a solid question from Walter!
Good question! If you ever need to update your address with us, please e-mail us at [email protected]! Always the best way to get in touch with us.
As is the new tradition, we wrap up with the current schedule.

Ongoing Production Schedule
– Tue, Jul 04, 2023 at 06:02:02 AM
Good morning, Sentinels fans!
Happy 4th of July to those of you who celebrate it! As promised, I sat down with various production team folks here at GTG and put together a realistic timeline for the rest of the content promised on this campaign. First, let's talk about what we mean with each step:
Writing:
- The content is all written and approved by the creative team.
Art:
- The images have all been created by the artist(s) and approved by the creative team.
Layout:
- The writing and art has been slotted into layout files.
Editing & Revisions:
- The creative, editing, and production teams go back and forth on everything with several passes of editing and revisions to make everything look and work right.
Final Review:
- The editors give everything a final pass, looking for any errors or necessary adjustments. This step may require going back to “Editing & Revisions” if too many errors are found, or if a systemic issue is discovered.
Production:
- The production files go to the printer and turn into a real printed product!
Projected Release Date:
- The estimated quarter and year that we believe this product will be released, updated as we work through the steps.
With all that in mind, let's look at the all the SCRPG products we currently have in the pipeline!

There we go! We're planning on at least two products release a year until this is all done, and things have been moving along more in the last two months, so we're feeling good about sticking with this. Of course, anything can happen, and we'll keep you updated as things take more or less time than anticipated. With that in mind, I'll update this production schedule each month in the updates going forward so you can watch the progress happen.
Stay cool in this hot month! See you at the beginning of August!

June Update - works in progress, timeline coming soon
over 1 year ago
– Tue, Jun 06, 2023 at 07:39:32 AM
Hey, folks!
I’m currently traveling, so this update will be on the lighter side, but I wanted to let you know that I have seen the requests for schedules of the remaining books, and that’s on my docket to put together for you, ideally in next month’s update. Everything is in various states and in the last month, we’ve gotten more done on SCRPG stuff than in the previous year, now that both Nick Reale and Paul Bender are fully spun up on putting together SCRPG content.
So! When will everything be done? I can’t easily say, but I will get you a more satisfactory answer soon. My main concern is promising something by a certain date, then running into additional complications and missing that date, but I can at least give more granular information on where things are and how long each step of the process takes so you can get a clear view of what we have done, what we have left, and what the road to get us there could look like.
Thanks for sticking with us! I look forward to sharing more details with you in next month’s update.

Starter Kit Progress! Also, German Translation!

Good afternoon, everyone!
Sorry about the lack of an update last months — things were chaotic over here between conventions, crowdfunding, and multiple confirmed cases of Covid (some quite serious) in the office. But that just means you get two big topics in today's update!
Starter Kit Rework
Things are moving along quite well on this front, with Paul Bender himself doing a bunch of cool layout stuff to help bring this project to completion, advised by our intrepid editor and developer Nick Reale and myself. Let's look at some examples of our work on Character Folios.
Here is the front of the original Absolute Zero Hero sheet from his folio:
Looks good, but it could be better! Here's the updated version:
Much nicer! It follows the formatting of the core rulebook better (while even improving on that) and is just more generally cleaned up.
Here's something a bit more complicated: Bunker's Auxiliary sheet. Starting with the original:
And the rework!
A much more clear hierarchy of information!
The character folios have been a bunch of painstaking work, but Paul is now getting to our notes on the Issues, which have a variety of changes, including a bunch of reworks, improvements, and even helpful GM advice! After that, he'll tackle the thing that brings it all together: the Gameplay Guide.
All of this is to create a pathway for us to make RPG content in a more streamlined way than ever before, that way we can tackle NEW stuff soon, bringing together all the hard work that we and countless contractors have been in the trenches on for years now. Progress is happening! There have been setbacks, but we're moving solidly forward now.
SCRPG in German!
We're very excited that the awesome folks over at Ulisses Spiele have been working on bringing the SCRPG to the German market as Sentinel Comics: Das Rollenspiel!
Their crowdfunding campaign still has a week to go — check it out!
I'm very impressed at the depth of understanding they've shown for the system and their love of the setting. Even if you don't speak German, it's a worthwhile page to check out, just to see what they've done with it. And if you do speak German? Even better!
We got a question about this in the comments since the last update. Here it is:
"How closely are you working with the company on translation/localization? I am asking because if I understood it correctly, the German version of the Definitive Edition failed mostly due to different ideas about those very things (even though that was a different company, of course).
Related to this, do you know if the Starter Kit is going to be based on the new and revised version you are working on at the moment? I guess it would make sense, but I also heard that a translation of the “older” version had already been in the making so I wonder what it’s going to be.
Sorry for taking up so much space to discuss something that is only relevant for a small part of the Sentinels community, but the SCRPG is one of the best systems I have ever played, and I am confident that a German localization will help boost its popularity over here by quite a lot."
That is very true about the Definitive Edition. Anyone working with Sentinel Comics properties needs to respect the core material and work with me, personally, on making it work. Arcane Wonders has been an excellent example of this, doing GREAT work with their Freedom Five game. Ulisses Spiele has also been doing a phenomenal job with the RPG, getting into the system and setting in a way that more than proves their commitment and dedication.
As for the reworked Starter Kit, I just got to talk to Marcus from Ulisses Spiel in person about this at a trade show last week, and he's excited to get his hands on the reworked Starter Kit elements, which we'll be sending his way as they're completed.
I look forward to showing off more content next month! Thanks, everyone!
